Recumbent Stationary Bike

There are things that you need to consider when you want to purchase a recumbent stationary bike for your home gym. Some of which that you need to consider are the comfort, intensity of exercise, available storage space, ease of use, physical needs or preference and others. Upright stationary bike differs from recumbent bike in exercise intensity, size and body position. Below are some things that you need to know when purchasing a recumbent stationary bike.

o Recumbent stationary bikes support the back rest and the legs facing the body. It is usually done in a sitting position. This is more comfortable, supportive and natural to the user's buttocks and back. One of the advantages of this type is that it is hands free position allowing you to read while doing the workouts.

o It is also easier to mount and is lower to the ground as compared to upright bike. It is desirable for riders with physical impairment making it difficult to maintain or mount balance on a bike.
o The advantages of the recumbent seem to end with its ergonomics. But ergonomics is the most ideal quality to consider when purchasing a bike. It is important that you choose stationary bike that will not cause pain and aches and is also comfortable and easy to use.

o Recumbent bike is much bigger as compared to upright exercise equipment and will require bigger space. If you have limited space in your house purchasing a recumbent bike is not a good idea.

o It provides excellent heart exercises and conditioning workout, but for users that require more intensity that you need to stand sometimes it is not best to choose recumbent bike.
